Special Board Meeting
April 14, 2011

CALL TO ORDER:  
Meeting was called to order by Kevin Beliveau, Supervisor  at 4:00 pm

ROLL CALL:
Present:  Jan Baldwin, Alanda Barnes, Yvette Ramsdell, Matt Gary, Mary Jo Samotis,
                 Kevin Beliveau
Absent:  
Staff Present:  Mark Ritter, Superintendent and Susie Olpere, Recording Secretary

Others Present:  Cal Taylor

Pledge of Allegiance recited.

MEETING AGENDA:
Motion was made by Jan Baldwin to approve meeting agenda as noted for April 14, 2011, second by Alanda Barnes                    
Approved:  Unanimously by roll call vote
Motion Carried.

PUBLIC COMMENTS:   None


NEW BUSINESS:  

    A)  Options for filling Township Clerk position.
         Supervisor Beliveau asked board members for any recommendations of an individual or 
          suggestions on a process for filling the position.  The board determined the decision 
          should be made in the allowed 45 days, which would be May 23rd.  Also included:
* A two week ad would be placed in the Oscoda Press (April 20th & 27th)
* Letters of interest and resumes would be accepted until noon on May 2nd.
* A Sub-Committee was selected to review all applications and candidates and to choose 3 of the best qualified for the position.  Chosen were Beliveau, Ritter, and Samotis
* A Special Meeting to acquaint themselves with the candidates was decided to 
held at 6:00 pm prior to regular meeting on May 16th.
  

OTHER  BUSINESS: 

A) McCuaig Park:  Mr. Ritter made a suggestion that a Sub-Committee from the board be formed to oversee and provide direction for the upcoming acquisition of McCuaig Park and including all the recreational parks in the township.
      Volunteers for this committee: Matt Gary, Jan Baldwin, Kevin Beliveau, and Mark Ritter
	
  

BOARD COMMENTS:  

 Jan Baldwin had mentioned the possibility of hiring another full time employee for the DPW.  No
decision was made because of the uncertainty of the schedule for highway construction with MDOT and the status between Oscoda Township and United Water.
