10-04-2004 Regular Meeting Charter Twp. of AuSable Meeting called to order at 7:00 P.M. by Supervisor Lamrock. PRESENT: Lamrock, Schweickert, Kopko, Gary, Barnes and Poland. ABSENT: Beliveau. PRESS COVERAGE: Holly Nelson. Pledge of Allegiance recited. MEETING AGENDA: Motion by Kopko, seconded by Schweickert to accept the meeting agenda as presented. All in favor, motion carried. PUBLIC COMMENTS: Paul Darner commented on Ron's Salary. Was told that would be discussed later. CONSENT AGENDA: Motion by Kopko, seconded by Barnes to approve 09-20-04 Twp. Board minutes; Accept 08-25-04 Planning Commission minutes; Authorize payment of general (with an addition of a check for $15.25), water and sewer fund bills. Roll call, all yes, motion carried. NEW BUSINESS SENIOR CENTER WALKING PATH-BID PRESENTATION-PAUL BLUMENFELD: Motion by Schweickert, seconded by Gary to award the bid to Brittain Asphalt Maintenance to seal the walking trail for $780.00. Roll call, all yes, motion carried. FORMAL OFFER TO SUPERINTENDENT: Motion by Poland, seconded by Gary to have the Supervisor negotiate a formal proposal with Sandra Wilson and return with a contract. All in favor, motion carried. The Supervisor informs us that the Michigan Department of Natural Resources has approved extending our grant application for 6 months. Dennis Pajot sent a letter concerning Planning and Zoning issues. He feels it would be better to work the existing downtown. Americinn invites us to participate in their 6th annual Halloween Party on Sunday, Oct. 31, 2004 from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. BOARD COMMENTS: Bobbie Kopko presented Della Schweickert with an appreciation plaque from Bob Boschma, our assessor, and his wife Kathy. ( Thank you, Bob and Kathy. ) Mike Poland said the right turn lane is in and will probably be re-striped this year. He thinks correspondence should be made with MDOT thanking them for their rapid attention to this matter. Lamrock commented that we should send a letter to consumer's energy also because they moved the power pole free of charge. PUBLIC COMMENTS: Paul Blumenfeld commented that he thought negotiations with the Superintendent had already taken place. Paul Darner personally thanks Della for all her service. Mrs. Svoboda questions whether the Superintendent would also be doing the zoning administrator's job. She said she didn't understand it that way.
