05-03-2004 Regular Meeting Charter Twp. of AuSable Meeting called to order at 7:00 P.M. by Supervisor Lamrock. PRESENT: Lamrock, Schweickert, Kopko, Barnes, Poland, Beliveau and Gary. ABSENT: None. PRESS COVERAGE: Holly Nelson. OTHERS PRESENT: Students from the High School. Joel Sheltrown for State Representative. Pledge of Allegiance recited. MEETING AGENDA: Motion by Barnes, seconded by Schweickert to approve the meeting agenda as presented. All in favor, motion carried. PUBLIC COMMENTS: None at this time. CONSENT AGENDA: Motion by Gary, seconded by Barnes to approve the 04-19-04 Twp. Minutes; accept the 03-08-04 Parks and Recreation Minutes and the 03-09-04 WDC Minutes; authorize payment of the Genera, Water and Sewer Fund bills. Roll call, all yes, motion carried. UNFINISHED BUSINESS (* - NOTHING NEW TO REPORT ) HOUSING STANDARDS/PROPERTY MAINTENANCE * RETURNED PROPERTY * SEWER-IPP ORDINANCE * FINISH LINE PARK * COST SAVING ALTERNATIVES * FUTURE LAND USE PLAN-CONSIDER RECOMMENDATION OF PLANNING COMM: The Planning Commission recommended that we adopt the Land Use Plan. However, John Iacoangeli of Beckett & Raeder couldn't be here tonight and we will wait until he can attend a meeting before we adopt the plan. INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION * MDOT SIDEWALK * EMERGENCY SERVICES COST RECOVERY ORDINANCE * 2. NEW BUSINESS PARKS AND RECREATION REQUEST: The Supervisor presented the board with a list of improvements for the Children's Park totaling $15,460.00, and asked that we consider creating an account to receive donations from the public. He will draft a resolution to accept these donations and bring it back to the next meeting. The treasurer will give the supervisor the financial statement for the first quarter so he can review it line item by line item and get a better idea where he is with the budget. MILEAGE REIMBURSEMENT: Motion by Kopko, seconded by Barnes that we amend the mileage reimbursement from 34.5 cents to 37 cents per mile, effective 05-03-2004. Roll call, all yes, motion carried. AUSABLE RIVER INTERNATIONAL CANOE MARATHON: Motion by Lamrock, seconded by Poland that we renew our advertisement in the Souvenir Program Booklet for a full page, $450.00 ad. Roll call, all yes, motion carried. BOARD COMMENTS: Schweickert asked Cal Taylor to address the board about vandalism in the bathrooms at the Children's Park. Supervisor will check prices on automatic shut off faucets and bring that information back to the next meeting. Barnes asked where the flag was at Finishline Park and was told Cal took it down due to high winds. Lamrock commented on the sidewalk and also the new bridge improvements (in 2005) at no cost to us. PUBLIC COMMENTS: Joel Sheltrown introduced himself as a candidate for State Representative, and handed out brochures. Amy Karchefski submitted a letter to the Township Board concerning cemetery work.
