03-15-2004 Regular Meeting Charter Township of AuSable Meeting called to order at 7:00 P.M. by Supervisor Lamrock. PRESENT: Lamrock, Schweickert, Kopko, Gary, Barnes and Beliveau. ABSENT : Poland. PRESS COVERAGE: Holly Nelson. OTHERS PRESENT: Students from the high school. Pledge of Allegiance recited. MEETING AGENDA: Motion by Gary, seconded by Barnes to approve the meeting agenda as presented. All in favor, motion carried. PUBLIC COMMENTS: Mr. Svoboda informed us that a tree is down on 3rd street and Old US-23. CONSENT AGENDA: Motion by Barnes, seconded by Kopko to (approve) Township Minutes 03-01-02; (accept) HSRUA Minutes02-03-04, 02-10-04, 02-11-04, Parks & Recreation Minutes 02-09-04, WDC Minutes 02-19-04, Police Report-February, Water/Sewer Report-February, and the Zoning Report-February; (authorize payment) for General, Water and Sewer Fund bills. Roll call, all yes, motion carried. UNFINISHED BUSINESS (*-nothing new to report) HOUSING STANDARDS/PROPERTY MAINTENANCE * RETURNED PROPERTY * SEWER-IPP ORDINANCE * FINISH LINE PARK * COST SAVING ALTERNATIVES * FUTURE LAND USE PLAN * INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION * MDOT-SIDEWALK * BECKETT & RAEDER-ZONING ORDINANCE PROPOSAL * WATER METER CHARGES (RESOLUTION ): This matter was discussed and the Supervisor is to change some wording and bring it back to the next board meeting. 2. NEW BUSINESS EPPERT-RATE HIKE: Motion by Gary, seconded by Schweickert to accept the hourly rate increase from $125.00 to $130.00 for Rob Eppert, our Township Attorney. Roll call, all yes, motion carried. Supervisor is to get a list of competitive rates. TAWAS CITY-WATER LOSS NEWSPAPER ARTICLE: We will receive and file this letter. GRASSER- SUPPORT FOR USE OF DREDGING SPOILS: Motion by Gary, seconded by Beliveau that we are in support of Mr. Al Grasser's letter to the D.E.Q. and that the Supervisor will draft a letter and send it to the appropriate representatives stating such. Roll call, all yes, motion carried. AWWA/MDEQ-CONTINUING EDUCATION: Motion by Schweickert, seconded by Kopko to approve meal and $50.00 tuition fee for a class in Gaylord, April 21st, 2004 for Cal Taylor. Roll call, all yes, motion carried. BOARD COMMENTS: Supervisor commented on materials he received from Rob Eppert but hasn't had time to look at it yet.
