10-20-2003 Regular Meeting Charter Twp. Of AuSable Meeting called to order at 7:00 P.M. by Supervisor Lamrock. PRESENT: Lamrock, Schweickert, Kopko, Gary, Barnes, Poland and Beliveau. ABSENT: None. PRESS COVERAGE: Holly Nelson. OTHERS PRESENT: Carol and Zack Ott (High School) Janice Langley (Beautification Award) Slawomir Krasuski (Beautification Award) Pledge of Allegiance recited. MEETING AGENDA: Motion by Schweickert, seconded by Barnes to accept the meeting agenda as presented. All in favor, motion carried. PUBLIC COMMENTS: None at this time. CONSENT AGENDA: Motion by Gary, seconded by Schweickert to approve the 10-06-03 Twp. Minutes; receive the 08-18-03 and 09-09-03 HSRUA Minutes, 08-21-03 OWAA Minutes, 07-23-03 Planning Commission Minutes, 08-21-03 WDC Minutes, the police report, water and sewer report, and the zoning report; and authorize payment of the general, water and sewer fund bills. Roll call, all yes, motion carried. BEAUTIFICATION RECOGNITION: Janice Langley and Slawomir Krasuski were present to receive their awards from the Supervisor for upgrading and beautifying their properties within the township. Ten other residents won awards also, but were unable to attend the meeting. They were Ernest Eby, Annette Schultz, Thad Sylvester, Elizabeth Spicer, Alvin Siterlet, Robert and Loraine Collins, Lucy Curley, Wellman's Sport Center, Trans Auto Glass and Dick Kutschman. NEW BUSINESS 1% ADMINISTRATIVE FEE RESOLUTION: Motion by Kopko, seconded by Barnes to approve the resolution with the 1% Administrative Fee. Roll Call: Gary NO, Barnes, Beliveau, Poland, Kopko, Schweickert and Lamrock YES, motion carried. RESOLUTION OF SUPPORT-RIVER DREDGING: Motion by Lamrock, seconded by Beliveau to approve the resolution (which the Supervisor read into the minutes) for dredging a small portion of the AuSable River. Roll call, all yes, motion carried. CHILDREN'S PARK SIGN BIDS Two sign bids were received. Artistic Sign Design and Truly Yours Sign Works. Motion by Barnes, seconded by Gary to delay action on the sign bids until the Parks and Recreation Committee meet and recommend whether the name should be changed. Roll call, all yes, motion carried. BOARD COMMENTS: Supervisor Lamrock commented on the loss of Bob Wassmann, saying that he did a lot for this community and for the Fire Department and he will be missed. PUBLIC COMMENTS: None.
