Regular Meeting
Charter Township of AuSable

Meeting called to order at 7:00 P.M. by Clerk Schweickert.

PRESENT:
Schweickert, Kopko, Beliveau, Barnes, Gary and Poland.

ABSENT:
Lamrock. 

No press coverage this evening.

Pledge of Allegiance recited.

MEETING CHAIRMAN:
Motion by Kopko, seconded by Barnes to have Kevin Beliveau act as meeting chairman.
All in favor, motion carried

MEETING AGENDA:
Motion by Kopko, seconded by Poland to accept the meeting agenda with the addition of 
compensation for temporary part time employees, and addition to web site regarding payment
of sewer and water bills placed under New Business.
All in favor, motion carried.

PUBLIC COMMENTS:
None at this time. 

CONSENT AGENDA:
Motion by Gary, seconded by Kopko to approve the Twp.minutes of 07/21/03; 
review OWAA minutes of 05/14/03, Planning Comm. Minutes 06/25/03, WDC minutes of 
06/19/03; and authorize payment of general, water and sewer bills.
Roll call, all yes, motion carried.

NEW BUSINESS

DUMPSTER SITUATION:
Motion by Gary, seconded by Schweickert to move this discussion to the PWD Committee and request that they recommend a solution to the Township Board.
All in favor, motion carried.

Motion by Schweickert, seconded by Beliveau that we post a PWD Meeting for August 25th, 
at 7:00 P.M.           All in favor, motion carried.

DPW COMMITTEE - WATER ACCOUNTABILITY RECOMMENDATION:
Motion by Gary, seconded by Schweickert to follow the PWD Committee's recommendation and have the Supervisor request that all master meters be inspected or replaced to ensure accurate readings between the townships first, and have the Supervisor continue researching
possibilities for a more proactive method of checking service lines. 
Roll call, all yes, motion carried.  
NOTE: We would like a response in a reasonable amount of time.

COMPENSATION FOR TEMPORARY PART TIME EMPLOYEES (NPP GRANT):
Motion by Kopko, seconded by Barnes to allow payment of $15.00 per hour for Supervisor 
1 and 2, and $7.50 per hour for employee 1, 2, and 3.
Roll call, all yes, motion carried. 

ADDITION TO WEB SITE:
Motion by Kopko, seconded by Barnes to place the two new payment options for water and sewer bills on the Web Site.  Pay by phone: 1-800-438-9926 access code: 3289.  On the

PUBLIC COMMENTS:
None

BOARD COMMENTS:
Gary: Commented on the Canoe Marathon and the economic impact it creates. He said 
there are so many volunteers and he wishes there was a way to acknowledge that. 
Della suggests that we write a letter to the Editor in Oscoda Press. It was decided that we would do that.

Beliveau: Commented that he has heard a lot of nice things about the walking path and 
road way.
