11/04/2002 Regular Meeting and Public Hearing on Bike Path Charter Township of AuSable Meeting called to order at 7:00 P.M. by Supervisor Lamrock. PRESENT: Lamrock, Schweickert, Kopko, Gary, Beliveau and Barnes. ABSENT: Nancy Gaskell PRESS COVERAGE: Holly Nelson OTHERS PRESENT: Attorney Rob Eppert Bill Powell, Transportation Engineer, MDOT Pledge of Allegiance recited. MEETING AGENDA: Motion by Kopko, seconded by Barnes to accept the meeting agenda as presented. All in favor, motion carried. PUBLIC COMMENTS: None at this time. CONSENT AGENDA (Minutes Twp. 10/21/02) (Bills General, Water, Sewer): Motion by Gary, seconded by Barnes to accept the consent agenda as presented. Roll call, all yes, motion carried. UNFINISHED BUSSINESS (* = nothing new to report) WATER RATE CHANGE/ORDINANCE * HOUSING STANDARDS/PROPERTY MAINTENANCE ORDINANCE * ROAD POLICY * RETIREMENT PLAN * CHAMBER REQUEST * MASTER PLAN AGREEMENT * RETURNED PROPERTY - ATTORNEY ROB EPPERT: Attorney Rob Eppert said he was unable to fully research the issues since he only had three hours allowed, but our options would be to sell the property with full disclosure of possible claims and convey title by quit claim deed; auction off property with disclosure of possible claims or do nothing at all. The board decided not to take action on the matter at this time. PUBLIC HEARING (BIKE PATH): Motion by Lamrock, seconded by Beliveau to suspend the regular meeting and open the public hearing. Roll call, all yes, motion carried. 2. Bill Powell, Transportation Engineer for MDOT was present to explain about the bike path and get information from the board and the public as to whether we want to move forward with the plan or make changes due to the property owners resistance to closing some of the drive ways. Jerry Silvey didn't think the project was a very good idea. Jan Baldwin thought maybe a meeting should be called between the property owners and Supervisor Lamrock and Bill Powell. Mrs. Dimmer wanted them to change the sidewalk measurements to five feet. Motion by Lamrock, seconded by Beliveau to close the hearing and open the regular meeting. Roll call, all yes, motion carried Motion by Beliveau, seconded by Barnes to continue working on the Bike Path Plan and have the Supervisor meet with the property owners and work out some kind of agreement as to the drive ways. Roll call, all yes, motion carried. NEW BUSINESS 2002 BUDGET AMENDMENTS: Motion by Kopko, seconded by Schweickert to approve the budget amendments in the general, water, and sewer funds and approve the budgets with those changes.
