June 3, 2002 Regular Meeting Charter Township of AuSable Meeting called to order at 7:00 P.M. by Supervisor Lamrock. PRESENT: Lamrock, Schweickert, Kopko, Gaskell, Gary and Beliveau. ABSENT: Barnes PRESS COVERAGE: Holly Nelson Pledge of Allegiance recited. MEETING AGENDA: Motion by Kopko, seconded by Schweickert to accept the meeting agenda as presented. All in favor, motion carried. PUBLIC COMMENTS: Michelle Lange was present to introduce herself and pass out literature from Tony Stamas, who is a republican running for State Senate. CONSENT AGENDA MINUTES (Twp. 05/20/02, Planning Comm. 03/13/02 & 03/27/02, Parks & Rec. 05/07/02) Reports (None) Bills (General, Water, Sewer) Correspondence (Iosco County Road Comm.) Motion by Kopko, seconded by Gaskell to approve the consent agenda as discussed. Roll call, all yes, motion carried. UNFINISHED BUSINESS (*- nothing new to report) Water Rate Change/Ordinance * Housing Standards/Property Maintenance Ordinance * Road Policy * Retirement Plan* CHAMBER OF COMMERCE -GRAND MARSHALL REQUEST Motion by Kopko, seconded by Gaskell to nominate all the volunteer firemen and their spouses as Grand Marshall in this 4th of July Parade. All in favor, motion carried. NEW BUSINESS BLUE CROSS RATE HIKE The Executive Committee will meet to evaluate this and bring back recommendations at the next meeting. 2. CHILDREN'S PARK BIDS Motion by Lamrock, seconded by Gary to accept the Goodrich Paving bid of $48,773.15 contingent on approval of the budget change by the grant administrators. Roll call, all yes, motion carried. HARBOR STREET REPAIRS Motion by Kopko, seconded by Schweickert to proceed with the Harbor Street repairs and NPP will reimburse us the cost. Roll call, all yes, motion carried. MASTER PLAN PROPOSALS Four proposals were received. 1. Land Plan Incorporated, Okemos, MI 2. McKenna Associates Inc. Northville, MI 3. Gove Associates Inc. Kalamazoo, MI 4. Beckett & Raeder, Ann Arbor, MI Motion by Kopko, seconded by Schweickert to have Ron Gaskell, Bert Poland and Supervisor Ron Lamrock review the plans and recommend a proposal to the Board, with the exception of Gove Associates, as their quote is extremely high. All in favor, motion carried. BOARD COMMENTS Gaskell commented on the cluster zoning in MTA Twp. News. Schweickert said she stands corrected on water hydrants. There are 174 not 700. Gary asks for evaluation on budget when we get a chance. PUBLIC COMMENTS Harriet Ellwein commented on Beautification Award saying that if anyone knows of an older home being renovated please contact the Board and they will contact her. She also commented on the TV going off all day for the last two months and also traffic going fast on Lake Street. ADJOURN Motion by Schweickert, seconded by Kopko to adjourn, 8:00 P.M.
