04/08/02 Regular Meeting Charter Township of AuSable Meeting called to order at 7:00 P.M. by Supervisor Lamrock. PRESENT: Lamrock, Schweickert, Kopko, Gary, Gaskell, Barnes and Beliveau. ABSENT: None. PRESS COVERAGE: Holly Nelson. Pledge of Allegiance recited. MEETING AGENDA: Motion by Kopko, seconded by Gaskell to approve the meeting agenda as presented. All in favor, motion carried. PUBLIC COMMENTS: Ken Carlson was present to introduce himself and say that he is running as State Representative in the 103 District on August 6th. CONSENT AGENDA: Minutes Twp. UNFINISHED BUSINESS ( * = nothing new to report ) WATER RATE CHANGE/ORDINANCE * HOUSING STANDARDS/PROPERTY MAINTENANCE ORDINANCE * ROAD POLICY * RETIREMENT PLAN * FIRE MILLAGE: There was discussion on the fire millage and the Supervisor will have our attorney make up a draft and bring it back to the next meeting. NEW BUSINESS AUDIT PRESENTATION: Don Brannan attended the meeting and gave a favorable report on the 2001 audit. It is now available for review. ROAD CONTRACTS: Motion by Beliveau, seconded by Barnes to proceed with the reconstruction of Industrial Row from Thompson Road to Old US 23 for $31,982.73, resurfacing Harbor Street from Old US 23 to Chevalier for $9,412.05, curbing the intersection of Smith and Farnsworth for $5,667.14, curbing the intersection of Second and Lake Street for $2,833.57, curbing of State and Smith Street intersection for $5,667.14 and up to $1,500.00 for replacement of old and missing street signs throughout the township, with the understanding that funding for the projects will come from the 2002 road maintenance budget and the remainder from Neighborhood Preservation Program Grant. Amounts from NPPG are $23,579.90, and from the township road maintenance budget, $33,482.83 total. Roll call, all yes, motion carried. DUMP BED: Motion by Kopko, seconded by Gaskell to approve the purchase and installation of the dump bed for the 1995 F-250 truck, at a cost of up to $2,200.00 total. Roll call, all yes, motion carried. BOARD COMMENTS: Supervisor commented on flag light saying it kept burning out. He had a more expensive one installed and hopes it will correct the problem. PUBLIC COMMENTS: Larry Baldwin comments on the fire millage saying that he is all for it and hopes we spread enough for future use.
