Supervisor Lamrock said that without the hearing we'll make $341,000 and with the hearing we'll make $351,000 which still leaves us short. He said the millage rate will be exactly the same thing as it was last year. No one else voiced an opinion in the matter although everyone had equal opportunity to speak. Motion by Lamrock, seconded by Barnes to close the public hearing and re-open the regular meeting. Roll call, all yes, motion carried. Motion by Lamrock, seconded by Barnes to levy 4.7411 mills for Township Operating purposes for 2001 and 0.5 mill for Fire Operating purposes for 2001. Roll call, all yes, motion carried. ADMINISTRATIVE FEE AND LATE FEE: Motion by Kopko, seconded by Gaskell that we not charge any administrative fee but that we do charge the 3% late fee for any taxes collected after February 14, 2002. Roll call, all yes, motion carried. TRUCK BIDS: There were two truck bids received and opened. It was decided that we send the bids to the DPW Committee and check out the specifications. Motion by Beliveau, seconded by Gaskell to send the bids to the DPW Committee for review and recommendation. All in favor, motion carried. BOARD COMMENTS: Supervisor Lamrock has been approached by a citizen to use the Finish Line Park as a site for an American Flag and a memorial for those lost in the World Trade Center and Pentagon bombings. It is to be a community effort. No action was taken but everyone expressed support. The Supervisor also informs us that we did not receive the grant for Mr. Myles' and RC Associates' property. PUBLIC COMMENTS: Larry Forebush said that according to our zoning he can't use metal siding on a pole barn and permission was given to the EMS crew. Beliveau explained that area is industrial and Mr. Forebush is in residential. Larry Baldwin asked if, in lieu of the tragedy in New York, anyone mentioned taking up a collection. The Supervisor said we would support any effort made toward that end. Motion by Kopko, seconded by Barnes to adjourn, 8:10 P. M. All in favor, motion carried. Della Schweickert, Clerk Ronald Lamrock, Supervisor Charter Twp. of AuSable Charter Twp. of AuSable
