09/04/2001 Budget Workshop--Regular Meeting Charter Township of AuSable The budget workshop convened at 6:00 P.M. and continued until 7:00P.M. Regular Meeting called to order at 7:00 P.M. by Supervisor Lamrock. PRESENT: Lamrock, Schweickert, Kopko, Gary, Gaskell, Barnes and Beliveau. ABSENT: None PRESS COVERAGE: Holly Nelson Pledge of Allegiance recited. MEETING AGENDA: Motion by Kopko, seconded by Barnes to approve the meeting agenda as presented. All in favor, motion carried. PUBLIC COMMENTS: None CONSENT AGENDA: A. Minutes-Township Board 08/20/01 B. Reports-None C. Bills-(General, Water, and Sewer) D. Correspondence-None Motion by Kopko, seconded by Gary to approve the consent agenda as presented. Roll call, all yes, motion carried. UNFINISHED BUSINESS (* = nothing new to report) A. STANDARDS FOR WATER SERVICE LINES: Motion by Lamrock, seconded by Gary to adopt the Standards for Water Service Lines as presented by Supervisor Lamrock. Roll call, all yes, motion carried. B. SHEPHARD CONDEMNATION: Motion by Lamrock, seconded by Kopko to rescind the condemnation process as recommended by the Condemnation Committee. Roll call, all yes motion carried. SUSPEND MEETING: Motion by Lamrock, seconded by Schweickert to suspend the meeting and go back into the workshop. All in favor, motion carried. The workshop continued through the General Fund and it was decided it was necessary to hold the Truth in Taxation Hearing. Vickie Doran complained about some of the homes in the Mayberry Street area and brought pictures to show the board. Supervisor Lamrock pointed out that most of these homes are being rented, and the people don't take the time to maintain them properly. Another person, who wished to remain anonymous, complained about motorcycles being revved up on Chester. She said she never sees trash or beer cans or anything, just the loud noise. Supervisor Lamrock suggested that she report it to the police. REOPEN MEETING: Motion by Lamrock, seconded by Gaskell to reopen the regular meeting. All in favor, motion carried. TRUTH IN TAXATION HEARING: Motion by Lamrock, seconded by Gaskell to hold the Truth in Taxation hearing on September 17, 2001, at 7:00 P.M. and ask that we spread the maximum amount of levy, which gives us the same amount of revenue as last year.
