July 2, 2001 Regular Meeting Charter Township of AuSable Meeting called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Supervisor Lamrock. PRESENT: Lamrock, Schweickert, Kopko, Gary, Gaskell, Beliveau and Barnes. ABSENT: None. PRESS COVERAGE: Holly Nelson. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE: Recited. MEETING AGENDA: Motion by Lamrock, seconded by Kopko to approve the meeting agenda with the addition of G. HORSES RIDING IN AUSABLE under NEW BUSINESS. All in favor, motion carried. PUBLIC COMMENTS: None. CONSENT AGENDA: A. Minutes - Twp. Board 06/18/01, HSRUA 06/05/01, WDC 05/17/01, OWAA 05/17/01, and Planning Commission 04/25/01 & 05/02/01. B. Reports - None. C. Bills - (General, Water & Sewer). Motion by Gary, seconded by Gaskell to approve the consent agenda as presented. Roll call, all yes, motion carried. UNFINISHED BUSINESS: (* - nothing new to report) A. WATER RATE CHANGE/ORDINANCE * B. HOUSING STANDARDS ORDINANCE - UPDATE: Supervisor Lamrock and two or three volunteers will start working on the Housing Standards Ordinance. C. ROAD POLICY * D. INOPERABLE VEHICLE ORDINANCE * G. RETIREMENT PLAN * H. SECURE RURAL SCHOOLS AND CUMMUNITY SELF DETERMINATION ACT * NEW BUSINESS: A. BETHANY STYER -IOSCO COUNTY ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT FORUM: Bethany gave a presentation of a county wide economic development plan and passed out post cards for our input. No action taken at this time. B. PARADE GRAND MARSHALL RECOMMENDATION: Motion by Lamrock, seconded by Kopko that we appoint Pete and Barb Brinkman as Grand Marshall to represent AuSable Township, in the 4th of July Parade, as recommended by Bobbie Kopko. All in favor, motion carried. C. LIQUOR CONTROL-LOCAL APPROVAL-W.T. MARKO'S TRANSFER: Motion by Lamrock, seconded by Schweickert to adopt the resolution transferring the ownership of 200 Class C licensed business with Dance-Entertainment Permit, located in escrow at R 1, 2795 N. US 23, Oscoda, MI 48750, AuSable Township, Iosco County, from William Terry Griffith to J. L. O'Grady's Irish Pub, L.L. C. Roll call, all yes, motion carried. D. ASSESSOR EDUCATION REQUEST-LAND DIVISION: Motion by Lamrock, seconded by Schweickert to allow our assessor to attend a class in Gaylord on Land Division, and reimburse him for mileage, meals, lodging, and $120.00 for tuition. The class will be three days (October 10, 11 & 12). Roll call, all yes, motion carried. E. IOSCO COUNTY AGRICULTURAL SOCIETY-CORRESPONDENCE: No action was taken toward purchasing advertising for this year. F. IOSCO TOWNSHIPS ASSOCIATION-CORRESPONDENCE: Motion by Kopko, seconded by Beliveau that any board member and Zoning Administrator be allowed to attend the meeting and be reimbursed. Roll call, all yes, motion carried. G. HORSES RIDING IN AUSABLE: George Schwed was present to complain about the Michigan Trail Riders and the Shore to Shore Trail Riders leaving the horse droppings in the Township and the liability in case of an accident. Supervisor Lamrock will contact Rob Eppert and draft a letter to the Trail Riders. BOARD COMMENTS: Beliveau informs us that a subcommittee is working on a proposed change to the Zoning Ordinance which allows expansion of multiple unit housing. He also suggested looking into mosquito control for our area. He and Barnes report road damage to Fourth St. and Fields St. Schweickert asked how we are doing on the purchase of a water truck, was told it is still in committee. PUBLIC COMMENTS: None.
