Regular Meeting
Charter Township of AuSable

Meeting called to order at 7:00 P.M. by Supervisor Lamrock.

PRESENT:
Lamrock, Schweickert, Kopko, Gary, Beliveau, Gaskell and Barnes.

ABSENT:
None.

PRESS COVERAGE:
Holly Nelson.

Pledge of Allegiance recited.

Meeting Agenda:
Motion by Beliveau, seconded by Gaskell to accept the meeting agenda as presented.  All in favor, motion carried.

Public Comments:
None at this time.

Consent Agenda:
A.	Minutes - Township 01/16/01, Parks & Rec. 01/08/01 and 01/29/01 and HSRUA 01/09/01.

B.	Reports - None.

C.	Bills - (General, Water, Sewer)

Kopko pointed out that Cal Taylor's name is spelled wrong in the Parks and Rec. minutes of January 08, 2001 and would be corrected.

Motion by Kopko, seconded by Barnes to approve the consent agenda as amended. Roll call, all yes, motion carried.

G.	HSRUA Bond - Update:
Supervisor Lamrock has forwarded a copy of a resolution and contract from the Authority Bond Council, Miller Canfield, to our Township Attorney, Rob Eppert, for his review and comments.

NEW BUSINESS

A.	Joe Hilliard - Retirement Plan Advisor:
Mr.  Hilliard gave a brief review of a deferred payment plan, and other methods of coverage.

Motion by Lamrock, seconded by Kopko to refer this to the finance Committee. All in favor, motion carried.


B.	Presentation of Plaques - Dale Burley and Bob Wassmann:
Supervisor Lamrock presented Dale Burley with a plaque for his service on the Township Board during the last term. Bob Wassmann was unable to attend this meeting to receive his, so Supervisor Lamrock will ask him to attend a different meeting.

C.	Appoint Board of Review (Allan Mixture, Bill Bellingham, Maruy Rhodes):

Motion by Schweickert, seconded by Beliveau to appoint Allan Mixter to the 2001/2002 Board of Review.
All in favor, motion carried.

Motion by Barnes, seconded by Kopko to appoint Maurice Rhoads to the 2001/2002 Board of Review.
All in favor, motion carried.

Motion by Kopko, seconded by Gaskell to appoint William Bellingham to the 2001/2002 Board of Review.
All in favor, motion carried.

D.	PUBLIC HEARING

COMMUNITY RECREATION PLAN:    7:30 P.M.

Motion by Lamrock, seconded by Gary to suspend the regular meeting and open the public hearing.
Roll call, all yes, motion carried

Everyone was alloted ample time to speak at this hearing. No one was opposed to the plan.

Motion by Lamrock, seconded by Kopko to close the public hearing and re-enter the regular scheduled Township meeting. Roll call, all yes, motion carried.

Motion by Gary, seconded by Beliveau to adopt the Community Recreation Plan with the addition of corrections of Jan. 29th, and under MCQUAIG PARK ACQUISITION put a period after snowmobiling and delete "including establishing important linkage with existing DNR regulated trails".  Also incorporate notes given to Supervisor.  SEE ATTACHMENT.
Roll call, all yes, motion carried.

BOARD COMMENTS:
Beliveau:  Commented what a fabulous job Cal Taylor did on the table.

Schweickert:  Next meeting will be Feb. 20th because of Presidents Day.

Kopko:  Commented that water bills were sent out with wrong date but we are aware of it.

PUBLIC COMMENTS:

Evelyn Moon asked about Northpier Ord. and was told that our attorney recommended we do nothing because we don't own property.

Motion by Kopko, seconded by Gary to adjourn. All in favor, motion carried.
