Charter Township of AuSable 

Meeting called to order at 7:00 P.M. by Supervisor Lamrock.

PRESENT:
Lamrock, Schweickert, Kopko, Wassmann, Beliveau and Gary. 

ABSENT:
Burley.

MEETING AGENDA:
Motion by Lamrock, seconded by Kopko to accept the meeting agenda. 
All in favor, motion carried.

PUBLIC COMMENTS:
None at this time.

CONSENT AGENDA:   (Twp. Minutes 8/7/00; July Zoning Report; Bills):  
Motion by Beliveau, seconded by Gary to approve the consent agenda.  
Roll call, all yes, motion carried.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS (*=NOTHING NEW TO REPORT)

OHS WATER/SEWER-UPDATE:
Supervisor Lamrock reports that construction is complete and we are awaiting final billing at this time.

BICYCLE PATH-UPDATE:
Supervisor Lamrock reports that he has been informed that AuSable was not selected to receive the transportation enhancement grant dollars.  He believes there is a need for a safe pedestrian path and will look into alternatives.

WATER RATE CHANGE/ORDINANCE *
      
BALDWIN TOWNSHIP WATER CONNECTION-UPDATE:
Supervisor Lamrock informs us that our engineer, Mr. Gary Bartow, has approved the prints and specifications for the Baldwin Twp. Water Connection Project and signed copies were dropped off today.  The legal agreement will be signed once AuSable has a set to incorporate into the agreement.

ASSESSOR CERTIFICATION:
Motion by Lamrock, seconded by Schweickert to authorize food, lodging, travel and $120.00 registration fee for our assessor to attend class in Grand Rapids.

08/21/00  Regular Meeting

NEW BUSINESS

First responders:
Motion by Lamrock, seconded by Kopko to contribute $2,500.00 to the "FIRST RESPONDERS" toward their 50/50 grant match to purchase a new rescue vehicle.
Roll call, all yes, motion carried.

2000/20001 OACC COMMUNITY PROFILE & MEMBERSHIP DIRECTORY:
Motion by Lamrock, seconded by Gary to authorize $2,275.00 expenditure for Area Promotion advertisement in the Oscoda-AuSable Chamber of Commerce Community Profile & Membership Directory.
Roll call, all yes, motion carried.

HOME BEAUTIFICATION AWARD:
Motion by Lamrock, seconded by Kopko to present the 2000 Home Beautification Award to Margo and Kevin Beliveau for their beautification and restoration endeavors of their home at 222 Lake Street.
All in favor, motion carried.

Margo, Kevin and children were present to receive the award from Supervisor Lamrock.

Motion by Beliveau, seconded by Schweickert to present a Commercial Beautification Award this year, as recommended by the AuSable Township Beautification Committee, and present the AuSable Inn an award at out next meeting (09/05/00).
All in favor, motion carried.

BOARD COMMENTS:
Supervisor Lamrock reports that our neighbor, Mary Spencer, passed away on Friday, 08-18-2000 and funeral services will be at Buresch's at 11:00 A.M. tomorrow if anyone wants to attend.  Mary was Treasurer of AuSable Township for 16 years,.

PUBLIC COMMENTS:
Ron and June Silvers are once again reporting their complaints about the junk and cars on the Frei's property.
Clerk Schweickert reports that the zoning administrator is awaiting a written reply from the Michigan Township's Association concerning his authority to seek proof that the cars are inoperable and licensed.
